Is your child a budding prima ballerina? The next Billy Elliott? Be part of the Royal Academy of Dance this autumn by booking a place at one of their children’s workshops (rad.org.uk). We are offering a very lucky little dancer a place at one of their autumn workshops, suitable for children aged from three to 13. The masterclasses are based on the classical storytelling of ballet (The Dream or Sleeping Beauty) as well as the modern musical theatre of Matilda!
The winning child will be able to join one of the following workshops:
- The Dream Children’s Repertoire Workshop on Sunday 22nd October. Inspired on Frederick Ashton’s magical ballet The Dream (based on Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream), children aged 3-11 will take part in a fun session of dance, music, acting, make-up and storytelling. No prior dance experience required.
- Matilda Musical Theatre Workshop on Sunday 29th October. Children aged 7-13 will have the chance to sing and dance to choreography inspired by the West End sensation. No prior dance experience required.
- Sleeping Beauty Student Repertoire Workshop on Sunday 26th November. Children aged 10+, who are studying RAD Grade 4 ballet and above, will be able to develop their performance skills by studying and rehearsing a scene from this famous ballet. The workshop will be led by a professional artist and a pianist.
Each workshop takes place at the Royal Academy of Dance’s headquarters in Battersea, London. The winning child will be able to join one workshop of their choice from the three outlined above, subject to the child meeting the relevant age and dance level criteria.
The prize is non-transferable; it cannot be passed onto someone else, or used for a different RAD activity and cannot be exchanged for cash. For our full terms and conditions, click here.
