TELL US WHY YOU STARTED MANÈGE EN SUCRE
I was more destined to work in psychology as that was what I studied at university, but I came up with the idea to start my brand after having my second daughter, Giuliana, now four.

WHAT INSPIRES YOUR WORK?
I really work with my heart. I try not to be too influenced by fashion trends and do what I believe will make a difference to the brand. I love to work with beautiful fabrics and like mixing at least two different fabrics together in one dress. It changes everything and I love to place an emphasis on the finer details.

DO YOUR DAUGHTERS INFLUENCE YOUR DESIGNS?
Of course! Anna-Rose, seven, and Giuliana are my muses! I always show them my new designs, which they then try on for me and give me their (very!) honest feedback. They look at things in a different way so their input is invaluable.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR PROUDEST MOMENT?
In my family life, without doubt, it was the births of my two girls. Professionally, it was when I saw the vision of my brand come to life. I felt incredibly proud as it didn’t happen overnight. It took me 18 months to set up the infrastructure and another year to get the first collection ready with my fabulous design manager, Claudia.

DESCRIBE AN IDEAL SUNDAY
I love spending the day with my husband and daughters, and just relaxing with them. We are happy playing in the garden and then we love to go for a nice walk. For me, it’s the perfect Sunday.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ROLE MODELS?
The role models in my life are all the women who wake up in the morning and make things happen, smash doors open that are closed to them and never give up regardless of what people say or think.

WHERE DO YOU FEEL HAPPIEST?
When I am with my family – that’s where I find all my energy.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO PASS ON TO YOUR GIRLS?
I try to teach them the importance of being independent and to always try to achieve their dreams. I want them to accept that it is OK to fail and to always feel proud that they have tried their best.

DO YOU ENJOY WATCHING TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR PLAY OR IS IT TOO STRESSFUL?
We try to go to as many games as we can as we always have fun as a family, but of course it is very stressful for us depending on how the game goes.
